The title story originally appeared as 'Lucy and Christian Wainwright, or, The One Eternal Meeting, 1781' in MP (February 1856) 111-38. The volume also includes ‘Some Thorns and Roses from a Homely Life’, ‘Bygone Days’, ‘A Household Record’, ‘The Two Beauties’, ‘Will No One do Likewise?’ and ‘The Lost are Found’.
