Description

This was a magazine for girls (1887-1896), edited until 1893 by L. T. Meade, which CMY considered populist and trivial in comparison with the Monthly Packet. She contributed to it ‘John Keble’ Atalanta (May 1888) 466-71. A conciliatory letter from Meade to CMY (MS Mrs Clare Roels, 4 September 1889) is evidently a reply to one in which CMY had complained of the ‘want of definite religion’ in the magazine.
