Biography
She was the daughter of the Rt. Rev. Dr. George Davys (1780-1864), Bishop of Peterborough, who owed his preferment to his having been chaplain to the young Queen Victoria. His wife Marianne Mapletoft (1788/9-1858) had been a childhood friend of FMY’s. Mary Davys before her marriage was Extra Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Victoria. She married (1844) the Rev.
