Biography
She may be the Miss White, later Mrs Gustard, dead by 1861, listed as a contributor to the Hursley Magazine in 1848. The latter was perhaps Margaretta Sarah White, daughter of the Rev. John White (1761/2-1841), Vicar of Exminster, who married (Mangalore 4 December 1850) Captain H. F. Gustard, 6th Regiment of Native Infantry (Morning Chronicle, 22 January 1851; Alumni Oxonienses). Or she may have been a member of the White family who occupied Ampfield House until at least the 1881 census, whose head in 1881 was another, different Rev. John White (b.Ampfield 1817).
