She lived with her brother, the Rev. Thomas Vowler Short, at Kingsworthy, Hants, from 1829-1834 when he was rector. She was born in Teignmouth, and her father the Rev William Short (d. 1829) was Archdeacon of Cornwall. [Short in ODNB]
