He was Vicar of Broxted, Essex 1869-85, and Vicar of Boreham, Essex 1885-. Not himself related to CMY, he married Mary Isabel Yonge, daughter of her cousin the Rev. John Eyre Yonge, and they had Frederick, b. 1874/5, Philip Caynton, b. 1877/8, Denys Nelson b. 1880, Isabel, b. 1882/3 and Horace b. 1883/4.
