The son of Sir Martin Crawley Boevey, 4th Bt., who was CMY's second cousin, he published a biography, The Perverse Widow, of Catharina (Riches) Boevey (1670-1726), to whose husband they were related. He was the brother of Sybella Crawley Boevey.
