Description

probably a member of the Spider Society as 'Bath Brick'

Biography

Daughter of Richard Woodward (d.1875), retired Bengal Civil Service, she lived in Bath in 1871 and 1881
and 1891 with her widowed mother at the Knoll, Clevedon. She was a fellow
of the Royal Meterological Society, a member of the Ex Libris Society
(collecting bookplates), and a supporter of local history societies and
publications. She contributed a memoir of her uncle Vincent Stuckey Lean to
his book on proverbs (1902-4). She compiled the autograph album in which the
letters to Bath Brick were found; since Bath Brick is known to have lived
near Clevedon they were probably the same person.
