The Collins family consisted of George Collins, (b. 1818/9) of the Post Office, Otterbourne, groom and gardener, his wife Martha (Andrews), postmistress, and their children George (b. 1839/40), Charles (b.1840/1) Olive (b. 1841/2), Elizabeth (Bessie) and Anne (b. 1846/7).At the time of the 1861 census Olive was housemaid to CMY's friend the Rev. W. J. Butler, Vicar of Wantage. She married Francis Pond in 1869. In 1891 she was still living in Wantage, working as a cook in a boys' boarding school.
