Biography
He married (1832) Clarissa Sandford Trant (1800-1844) and had three children: Clara (1833-1907), wife of the Rev Bixby Garnham Luard (b. 1835) by whom she had 5 sons and 6 daughters; Mary Eliza (1841-1912); and John Trant (1843-1931). He married secondly (1845) Anna Hanbury (b.1805/6) and had one daughter Anna Rachel. He lived at the Deanery, in Winchester Cathedral Close. He was nephew of Mary Archer Houblon of Hallingbury.
