Biography
This Miss Bowles was evidently a neighbour of Anne Sturges Bourne. The
Elizabeth Savage who was CMY's cook in 1891 had been born in Eling, which is near Anne Sturges Bourne's home at Testwood, but unfortunately in 1881 she was not working for anyone called Bowles, so it is impossible to determine either the identity of Miss Bourne or whether Savage was the cook in question.
