Biography
He married (12 Feb 1851) the Hon. Charlotte de Burgh. CMY and her mother were present at his wedding, which was reported in The Times (14 February 1851): 'On the 12th inst., by special licence, at St. Peter's Church, Pimlico, by the Rev. John Yonge, rector of Newton Ferrers, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Harris, incumbent of Tor Mohun, Major the Hon. James Colborne, eldest son of Lieutenant-General Lord Seaton, to the Hon. Charlotte de Burgh, youngest daughter of Lieutenant-General Lord Downes.' [PB 1914; tomb Newton Ferrars church]
