Biography
His first wife Mary Keate (d. 1859) was the daughter of Dr Keate, headmaster of Eton; he married secondly (1862), Mary Caroline Bevan (1822/3-1907). He was tutor to his nephew J. C. Patteson; recipient of sums from CMY from 1853, perhaps on Patteson's behalf; and a keen supporter of missionary work.
