Biography
An evangelical, he was editor of the Cottagers' Monthly Visitor. He married (1814) Marianne Mapletoft, a childhood friend of FMY. He was made D.D. and became Dean of Chester in 1831; he became Bishop of Peterborough in 1839. [ODNB]
