Biography

Ordained (1863) by the Bishop of Winchester, he served as curate of Alverstoke, Hants 1862-67, and Christ Church, Albany Street, London 1867-70. He served as secretary of the National Society for the Education of the Poor in Accordance with the Principles of the Established Church from 1871 till 1891 when he resigned to become a canon of Canterbury.
