Person’s Profile
Louisa Dundas
Description
contributor to MP (1890, and probably also 1887)
Biography
She contributed articles on the Cambridge Local Examination, and perhaps also the other articles signed 'L. D.' (1875-89). From the obituary 'L. Dundas' contributed to MP (1887) (2) 151, of her youngest sister Adela Dundas (1840-1887) it is clear that she cannot be Katharine Louisa Dundas (b. 1849), youngest sister of Mary Frances Dundas. It is also clear from this source that her father died in 1883. She was probably the Louisa Dundas christened in February 1834, daughter of William Pitt Dundas (d.1883), Registrar General of Scotland, and his cousin and wife Mary Strange, whose daughter Adela was christened 1840 (there were several other children too). He was a member of the family of Dundas of Arniston.
