He was the son of Dr. William England, and by 1899 had taken over the practice at 12 Southgate Street, Winchester. He married (1888) Catherine Harriette J. Ord. See Coleridge, Life 321n.: ‘Dr. England was the family physician. His son attended Miss Yonge in her last illness.’
