She was author of The Child and His Book, and a contributor to MP (1895) (as Mrs E. M. Field) and (1898) (as Louise F. Field). From 1893 she edited the GFS journal Friendly Work. She also contributed to Mothers in Council, later joining the staff.She married (1882) Edward Maclaine Field (b.1852), school inspector. She was opposed to women’s suffrage. Her obituary is in The Times (1 January 1942).
