Biography
Elder daughter of the Rev. Charles Gaye, Rector of St. Matthews, Ipswich, she was author of fiction and non-fiction for children, including translations from Hungarian, sometimes as S.G. and sometimes as ‘A clergyman’s daughter’. She may well be the author of all contributions to MP signed S.G.. By the 1871 census she was an authoress living in London, Coleshill St., with an elderly ?aunt; in 1891 and 1901 in London with brother Howard Gaye, architect, with no servant.
