Mentioned, as a missionary who came to South Africa in 1861-2 and looked after orphans, by A.E.M. Anderson Morshead, A Pioneer and Founder: Reminiscences of Some who Knew Robert Gray D D, First Bishop of Cape Town (London: Skeffington 1905), and presumably the Miss Arthur referred to by CMY (6 Dec 1866). See 'The Ladies' Association, or, Great Causes Helped by Small Means' MP (May 1867) 510: 'Little native girls may also be maintained in such boarding-schools as the Missions possess. Such may be found at Miss Arthur's, at the Cape, where the cost is £6 per annum'.
