Biography

She was daughter of the musicologist John Pyke Hullah (1812-1884), a friend of Thomas Helmore and Derwent Coleridge; in the 1881 census she was in London with her brother Francis, clerk to Lord Chief Justice Coleridge, and working as a governess; in the 1891 census she was staying with George Richmond the painter and described herself as an authoress. She probably also contributed to the Barnacle.
