Biography
She was a Gosling as ‘Magpie’ from June 1864, her address Westbourne Terrace/ the Close, Litchfield; she was the daughter of Rev. Canon John Gylby Lonsdale (1818-1907), canon of Lichfield Cathedral, and Sarah Martinson. Her grandfather had been Bishop of Lichfield. She might be the Margaret Lonsdale who published (1880) a biography of Sister Dora (Dorothy Pattison 1832-1878) and The Care and Nursing of Children (1885) which seems to reprint lectures addressed to GFS girls [IGI, 1871 census, BBI, DNB]
