MS Mrs Clare Roels

My dear Chelsea Delf,
Thanks for your note- I dare say you are right about the glass windows- If you have a copy of the story, and if you or your parents liked- I think I could put it in the way of being a Magnet story- but I am quite uncertain whether they would have it (i.e. Groombridge)1 – Shall I try?

I send you and Chelsea Delf Cobweb each a photograph – not so good as the one Cobweb has I fear2 In haste.

your affectionate
Mother Goose

1The Magnet Stories for Summer Days and Winter Nights 8 vols (London, Groombridge 1860-5), a series of anthologies of children’s stories by various hands, including CMY.
2Cobweb was Katharine Olive Helmore, Christabel’s first cousin. CMY corresponded with her about the photograph she already had in December 1861, and this letter probably dates from shortly afterwards, early 1862.
