Gentlemen,
Herewith I send the proofs corrected of the Mice at Play. If you prefer that I should look at the revise, I shall be very happy to do so.

I have done my best in the enclosed to describe my ideas of the illustrations, but I think the designer had better refer to Knight’s Old England, or to the Pictorial History of England for the costumes. The tower for Cecily’s headdress in vignettes is not in Old England, but it occurs in many of the illustrations in the 2nd vol of the Pictorial history

If there chanced to be a small space this head of the brown bill might be put in with effect, somewhere about p. 315.
