Elderfield, Otterbourne.
June 17th, 1896.

MS location unknown. Printed in the supplement to the Musical Herald (1 August 1896), iv.

Sir-
Being unfortunately absolutely unmusical I am afraid I can say nothing to the purpose, except that I heartily congratulate you and the pupils of the College on lending glory and beauty to Divine service.
Yours truly
C. M. Yonge

1Along with a number of other public figures CMY had been asked by Curwen, the editor of the Musical Herald, to endorse the work of the Tonic Sol-fa College, which promoted the use of that system in the teaching of singing.
