MS Charlotte Mitchell

Dear Miss Redgrave,
I like your plea for the Hedgerow very much indeed and hope to put it in whenever there is room. Was that old man a real character, if he was, should there not be a note to say so. It would so much enhance the interest1
yours sincerely
C M Yonge

1This article cannot be identified in MP. CMY's correspondent may possibly be the Elizabeth Redgrave whose The Word and the Work, or, The Harmony of Scripture with Geological Discoveries (London: Mozley 1860) was praised in MP (January 1860), 111. It was described as 'a series of conversations between a clergyman and a mechanic, intended to popularize Hugh Miller's views of the Periods of Creation, and to show how they may be reconciled with the Scriptural narrative.'
