Innocents’ day [28 December 1866]

MS Bodleian Library, Oxford: MS English Letters: e 86.1

My dear Mr Moor
I feel very guilty at not answering you yesterday, but just as I had sat down to write notes, I was interrupted, and all the time after wards went away

We shall be very grateful if you can kindly delight the parish this day week, Friday 4th – and we hope you and Mrs Moor can come to /i e dinner\ luncheon – so as to have time to arrange the room.2 I think John Hicks had better give his boys a half holiday and come to help you. I am sorry Rhoda has failed you

Yours sincerely
C M Yonge

1Envelope pasted on previous page addressed to 'The Revd/ J F Moor/Ampfield/Romsey.' and postmarked Winchester De 28/66. 'Miss Yonge’s autograph' written across the side in a different hand.
2A magic lantern show to be put on for the entertainment of the parish, later postponed because of bad weather.
