MS British Library Add MSS 54920: 170-171
My dear Mr Macmillan,
These Germans to whom I engaged that they should have early sheets and translate the Chaplet of Pearls now want me to have it copied for them at once, a thing I am not inclined for, but if you can at all tell me when it is likely to begin, I should know how to answer them. I am not in haste on my own account only I want to know what to say to this M. Otto Franke.
I have Mr Palgrave’s consent for the use of the extract from his father.2 Do you know who Roscoe’s representatives are, for there is all the Battle of Hastings from him. Miss Sewell says she wants all the MS to look over and arrange again – would you send it to her. Her direction is Bonchurch, Isle of Wight
Yours sincerely
C M Yonge
