I am very happy to agree to this arrangement and thank you for providing the early sheets. Is it not however Holland that is concerned and not Denmark?
I am in a difficulty of my own making. I signed an agreement in the spring with one Mr Hugo Borges that he should have the early sheets of the Chaplet of Pearls to translate for a Roman Cronik as he calls it, which he and another German are bringing out in Berlin. Unluckily, forgetting that the story might begin when I was from home, I left his letter and address behind me locked up, and now I do not know how he is to be reached – unless Mr Williams might know the name among the Berlin booksellers. He was to be in partnership with one Mr Otto —- whose surname I unhappily cannot remember, but if the Roman cronik has succeeded perhaps you may know its publisher,1 in which case I should be glad if you would cause the sheets to be sent, and also let me have the address, as I ought to write and I do not expect to be at home till near the middle of next month
