MS Charlotte Mitchell
My dear Edith,
I quite agree with your brother that your vision is very beautiful.1 If you were old enough to remember old Mrs Barter, you could hardly have helped putting in her vigil. When her son hoped she would have a good night, she answered ‘O yes, I shall be thinking of My Glorious Resurrection’. All yours are very touching. It would be odd if it came into the same No with a story of mine where St Andrew shews as patron of Scotland, or rather not himself, but a knight is taken for him. Now as to time – I have promised to send nothing I can help to be printed for the MP till after February, as there is a lot of printed stuff on hand. So it can not be till March, and I suppose the analogy of Lent & Advent would not make it unfit, and it would be a pity to keep it waiting till next November.
As things stand now, we go to Testwood on the 30th, and return on the 4th, and after that, if the Fates interfere, so much the worse for them. I know one lady who punishes them by writing the ffates whenever they are unpropitious
Mrs Warburton talked of her great enjoyment in your visit. She is certainly one of the freshest little creatures and most uncommon without meaning to be so that I ever saw, I always wish I saw more of her
yours affectionately
