My dear Miss Sewell,
Will Friday the 21st suit you for my coming for a conference? If you think there is any thing for me to bring let me know before Wednesday. I am going, I believe, to New College on the 31st, so that I can take anything for you.2

I don’t like to give up the French spelling of the names, I don’t think Count of is a parallel, since that is translated, but I like calling people as they were christened, and it is convenient as a rule in shewing each man’s nationality without specifying it.

Yours sincerely
C M Yonge

2This letter is dated on the assumption that the conference referred to was over the second series of their Historical Selections, and that it took place during CMY's May 1869 visit to the Moberlys at Brighstone. It appears that CMY intending subsequently to stay at New College with Sewell's brother Edwards and sister Janetta Sewell.
