MS Charlotte Mitchell/5

My dear Misey
Here is a note from Mr Gurney.1 I send it in case you should be changing your address, in which case it might not be so safe to let him write direct even under the care of the Angels.

I was at Rownhams yesterday, and was sorry to hear of the new sorrow.2 Maria had had a cold, but was nearly well, Mr Wilson has left off crutch in the house

yours affectionately
C M Yonge

1This may be a reference to the Rev. Alfred Gurney, but the letter is hard to interpret.
2This sounds like a reference to a family bereavement. Maria Wilson was related by marriage to Frances Dorothy Moor, whose son John Frewen Moor jr. tragically drowned in 1874. Possibly 'Misey' was related to the Moor family.
