Many thanks for your Revolution which looks very entertaining, though I have not thoroughly encountered its curling propensities and as you may suppose, I trust you! I shall be glad to have your further papers in the next year. They always tell.

2The name has been obliterated, but Elizabeth Sewell's two papers on the 'Causes of the French Revolution' were published in MP ns 24 (November 1877) 403-414, and (December 1877) 519-30. She had evidently joked that if CMY did not want them she could use them to curl her hair.
