My dear Mr Tyrwhitt,

There is a chapter on Basilica in the printer’s hands just now. I ought to have sent it up for October and I don’t know how I missed laying my hands on it when I was packing up the MS. I ought to have mentioned it when you wrote to me, and now I am terribly afraid I have given you ‘double double toil and trouble’. When the proofs come you will see what amount of repetition there is. Had I not better return you the new chapter to look at with it, I am greatly concerned at any blundering of mine having given you additional troubles.1

Your study of your son reminds me of my Mother saying it was a curious sensation when she began not to know where all my ideas came from

Yours sincerely
C M Yonge
