My dear Mr Macmillan

I must send you my warmest thanks for the very noble life which you have sent me, which I am sure must leave a deep impression on all who read it. I think the letter at p 262 is one that cannot be read without peculiar admiration and reverence – as so entirely the antidote of the spirit of self help.1
