My dear Miss Yonge,
I have ventured to send you a story for the Christmas number of the M.P. on the ‘rolling stone.’ I hope it is not too long—as far as I could reckon, it is shorter than one of those in a former number. You must forgive my infringing the editorial rules, and not letting the MS. pass through the publishers [sic] hands first.

Yours very sincerely
Anna H. Drury
