Dear Mr Craik
Would you be so kind as to direct this letter on to Miss Frances Martin. The address on her letter was printed in some ‘old English type’ and after much consideration I decided that the word looked more like Carrara than anything else but the Post acknowledges no such place.

Thank you for your letter. I think this will suit us, but I will write on to Miss Coleridge. If you do not hear in three or four days, consider that we consent1
