My dear Bath Brick1

Skelton was poet laureat to Henry VIII & Rector of Diss in Norfolk. I am afraid he was not a very respectable person & I do not know his poems. Your ‘Tact’ is the chosen one this time2

1'Bath Brick' made her first appearance in MP in May 1876 as a participant in the Spider competitions, and continued to take part until 1896.
2‘Define Tact’ was one of the Spider questions for December 1877. Bath Brick’s answer was chosen for publication in the issue of February 1878.
