If I can get a lift I shall be very glad to come to you, but it must rather depend on the ‘other house.’ Does George know that we have the Bishop Selwyn, his mother, children and new wife at the Vicarage for a month? 1

1The Rt. Rev. John Richardson Selwyn (1844-1898), who became Bishop of Melanesia in 1877 and retired to England finally in September 1891. This letter may date however from his previous visit to England in June 1889-January 1890. He had married his second wife Annie Catherine (Mort) Selwyn in 1885.
