MS British Library Add MSS 54921: 239-401

Dear Mr Macmillan
I hope to send off the illustrations – or the material for them on Saturday.2

I will write to Mr Portal, the Chairman of the Quarter Sessions for permission for the portrait of Sir Wm Heathcote

Two books are with them – one (Lady Heathcotes) for the sake of the old views and plans – it is the original book by Marsh.

The other belonging to me is the Revd J.F. Moor’s written about 1860.

The photographs are by a man named Savage, who is dead I marked what are worth looking at also two little woodcuts The photo of the Hursley Vicarage is much better than that in the envelope, and more characteristic, but Frith’s may be better than either

I need hardly say that all the collection is valuable and we trust to their return in safety3

Yours truly
C M Yonge
