Dear Mr Craik
It was like old times to see your writing again. I have no doubt that it is right about Forget me nots but I see so many stories advertised even before they are really finished in their serials that I thought it was time to see about the matter. In fact it is a ‘goody story’ only about school mistresses and quite short. I think it might in time be published together with some of the Innes’ books, which have had a large sale once, and are now and then asked for

My books have certainly kept up much better than I ever dared to expect, but I doubt whether I shall ever manage another long story, and I ought to be satisfied with 50 years of work and success.

I have been asked several times for a cheap edition of Bp Patteson, but I see there are 200 still in stock, so I suppose it is of no use to think about it.

I am perfectly well, thank you but slower in all things than I used to be

yours sincerely
C M Yonge
