Narrative | The wreck of the Charles Eaton led the local Aboriginal warriors to massacre 15 survivors. They included the ship's captain, an Indian army officer, his wife and some of their children. A son and some of the crew survived (The Sydney Herald, October 27, 1836, p 2). |
